Cookies

A silly EU directive says that I have to tell you that this website uses cookies. Don’t they all, these days?

Cookies are just little files that are downloaded onto your computer when you visit a website. They help your browser to remember your preferences, and help it to display websites in the way they’re meant to be seen.

Cookies help your browser to remember your login details, the contents of any shopping carts you’ve browsed away from, and things like that.

Cookies are also used for Google Analytics, which I use on this website to help me understand how popular my content is, how many clicks things get, how people find my blog, and so on. They’re quite harmless and don’t identify you to me – they just mark you out as a distinct user.

Now that I’ve said all this, and hopefully you’ve read it, you agree that if you continue to use the website it’s on the understanding that cookies are in use. You can either continue browsing the website, switch off cookies in your browser settings (if you don’t mind the possibility of the website starting to look wonky or do strange things), or you can just leave the website if you prefer.
